Grief

As you read—listen to “On the Nature of Daylight”

Can I borrow yesterday’s mercies—today’s seem to be running out

Five minutes at a time is all that I can bear to fathom

Breathe—in, breathe out—breathe in

The bitter Winter wind begins to seep

Under the cracked and splintered door of my heart

This time—I let it

A melee between The Glow and the slow dimming of the light

Heave now—heave my friends and bear arms

My coals are turning cold

Heave. Now.

For The Glow—the embers of The Glow must not die
